“Love is not the absence of logic

but logic examined and recalculated

heated and curved to fit

inside the contours of the heart”

From Compulsion by Martina Boone

From Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg (please17228280 note that I put in the names to make it easier for readers of this blog post.)

“Levi: Okay, fine. But I’ll admit it hasn’t been totally easy. We’ve had some problems.

Macallan: Some problems?

Levi: All right, more than a few. But look how everything turned out. I don’t think either of us thought we’d even speak to each other again after my first day at school, back in seventh grade. Especially since you must’ve had a huge crush on me.

Macallan: Are you remembering the same day that I am?

Levi: Yes.

Macallan: Oh. I’m sorry. I believe you’re suffering from delusional fantasies.

Levi: I’m not delusional. There are many words to describe me: awesome, stud, male extraordinaire, you name it.

Macallan: Fine. You’re awesome. But clearly delusional.”

From The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

“Just so you know,” I inform him, “one day, I’m going to get tired of sharing your affection with that coffee table and I’m going to make you choose.” “Just so you know,” he mimics me, “I would chop that table up and use it for firewood before I would ever choose anything over you.”
